Srinagar, Aug 24 (KNO): Authorities here have miserably failed to complete the completion of Public Health Centre (PHC) Maharaj Gunj building while the locals said that the work has come to a grinding halt since the year 2020.
Talking to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the locals said that the PHC S R Gunj exists from the past over 145 years and after the 2014 deluge, the building got damaged completely.
“The construction work for building a new PHC was started after the 2014 deluge and it is unfortunate that the work has been left midway, adding misery to the people living in the area and adjacent to it,” Ghulam Ahmad Dar, a local resident said.
He said that the abandoned and half constructed building has become a safe haven for drug addicts, adding that the work has been stopped for unknown reasons in the year 2020.
“The health centre is presently functioning from a building where the lack of space is putting barricades in ensuring better health care to the people. There is no space for x-ray and tests,” the locals said, appealing the concerned authorities to look into the matter and complete the construction of the building at earliest so that they could heave a sigh of relief—(KNO)
